"To possess that charisma, that energy, that memory! Spellbinding ... a beautiful piece... Fantastic evening - wonderful!"

Amanda Bowman, BBC Radio Nottingham Libraries StoryFest, March 2010.

A special collection of tales to celebrate Halloween, or the turn of the seasons at Samhain. When the veil between the two worlds of the living and the dead is said to be at its most fragile. Gruesome ghosts, devilish tricks, beautiful witches and hideous monsters - maybe even an appearance from Death himself... These are tales waiting to pounce!

Perfect for all the fun of Halloween - not to be taken seriously - until the wee small hours of the morning when all is dark and quiet - too quiet!

Halloween is a very popular week for storytelling, and a busy week for most storytellers! It is also an excellent time for trying unusual and atmospheric venues. Perhaps a deep cave network in the Derbyshire Dales, or a storywalk through a local park pausing for stories under the welcoming embrace of darkening branches, or discovering tortured tales in hidden village corners.

Sophie encourages costumes and lanterns and even comes dressed as an elegantly gothic witch herself, if required!

This particular show is variable in length and content to suit the setting and age group expected.

There is a family friendly version of this show too - with different stories - nothing too scary for the little ones, but just as much fun!

Sophie has also been commissioned to write specifc tales for tourist attractions' own Halloween events, and happy to work up new site specific material either to be performed by herself or give to on-site staff, perhaps complemented by training in storytelling or presentation skills.
